NONLINEAR MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL (NMPC) - APPLICATIONS AND SOME FORMAL RESULTS
Topic: Optimal control | All
19 septembre 2006, salle L106, École des Mines de Paris à Paris
14h : Bjarne FOSS, Department of Engineering Cybernetics, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
We will first highlight our experience with NMPC. In our context NMPC shall mean the use of a nonlinear mechanistic model, state estimation, and the solution of an online constrained nonlinear optimisation problem. The reference base is a number of applications of NMPC in a variety of processes.
Second, we present a method for constrained predictive control of linear systems. The approach consists of a non-convex offline problem and an efficient online problem. The offline problem can be considered as a generalization of existing results. Two examples, one being a laboratory experiments, compare the approach to existing methods.
