ABSTRACT
Motivated by the efficiency of proportional integral (PI) controllers for the stabilization and regulation control of finite-dimensional systems, as well as its widespread adoption by industry, the opportunity of using PI controllers in the context of infinite-dimensional systems has attracted much attention in the recent years. This talk presents recent results on the design of PI controllers for the regulation of system outputs such as Dirichlet or Neumann traces for a one-dimensional reaction-diffusion equation. The case of a state-feedback with input delay is discussed first. Then the coupling of the PI controller with a finite-dimensional observer is introduced (in a delay-free context) in order to achieve the output feedback regulation control of the plant.
